WASHINGTON, D.C. -- XM Satellite Radio will air The Open Championship for golf fans across the U.S. July 17-20 on channel 146.
The Open Championship, also known as the British Open, will air live from the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England.
Each day, the early-morning broadcast on XM will be followed by a replay of the day’s highlights during the afternoon and evening.
XM’s live broadcast will begin at 3 am ET, followed by highlights from 3 pm to 9 pm ET, on July 17 and 18. The live broadcast will begin at 4 am ET, with highlights from 2 pm to 8 pm ET, on July 19 and 20.
XM on-air hosts John Tautges, Matt Adams, Bob Stevens, and Brian Katrek will have an in-depth preview of The Open from Birkdale on July 16 starting at noon ET. XM will also have special editions of its golf programs “Making the Turn with Peter Kessler,” “oPINionated with Chris DiMarco,” and “Fairways of Life” during the week of the tournament.
The Open is the oldest of the four major championships in men’s golf, dating back to 1860. The event takes place annually on one of nine historic courses in the United Kingdom.
