Mazda Now Offering SIRIUS Satellite Radio

NEW YORK – July 19, 2004 – SIRIUS (NASDAQ: SIRI), the premium satellite radio provider known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and sports programming to cars and homes across the country, today announced that SIRIUS is available as a dealer-installed option in the following 2005 Mazda vehicles:

  • Mazda Tribute – Available July ‘04
  • Mazda MPV – Available July ‘04
  • Miata – Available this fall
  • RX-8 – Available this fall
  • MAZDA3 – Available this fall
  • MAZDA6 – Available this fall

    All of these Mazda vehicles will have factory-equipped radios that display artist, song title and category when playing SIRIUS’ premium lineup of programming that features 120 channels, including 65 channels of commercial-free music and more than 50 channels of news, entertainment and sports, including live broadcasts of NFL games. Customers wishing to obtain SIRIUS service will need to have a tuner and antenna installed by the dealer, as well as purchase a SIRIUS subscription.

    Mazda is also planning to launch a limited production Tribute that will be sold with a pre-installed SIRIUS satellite radio system, and a one-year SIRIUS subscription.

    SIRIUS’ exclusive automotive partners DaimlerChrysler, Ford and BMW represent over 40% of new cars and light trucks sold annually in the United States. Automotive brands currently offering SIRIUS radios in select new car models include BMW, MINI, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeepâ, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Audi, Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen. Automotive brands that have announced plans to offer SIRIUS radios in select models include Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover and Aston Martin.
