Pavarotti, who helped bring opera to the masses, was considered to be the greatest tenor of his time. Two years later, he would revisit this part for his debut at the Metropolitan Opera on November 23, 1963. Luciano Pavarotti died earlier today at the age of 71 at his home in Modena.
