NEW YORK – May 11, 2004 – SIRIUS, the premium satellite radio provider (NASDAQ: SIRI), known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and sports programming to cars and homes across the country, today announced that it reached the 400,000 subscriber mark for its nationwide service of over 60-commercial-free music channels and more than 50 channels of news, traffic, weather, sports, information and entertainment.
“Reaching the 400,000 subscriber mark is another important milestone for SIRIUS as we continue to grow our business and move closer to our target of one million subscribers this year,” said Joseph P. Clayton, Chief Executive Officer of SIRIUS. “Not only are more consumers discovering the pleasures of our commercial-free music, but they are also recognizing our premier position in sports programming, including NBA and NHL games, as well as being the only satellite radio provider of play-by-play NFL games.”
SIRIUS currently has a number of products available at mobile electronics retail stores across the country, including portable “Plug & Play” products, boomboxes, in-dash units, dedicated home units, as well as products for commercial applications. The Kenwood Here2Anywhereä, two versions of the S.R.S. Satellite Radio Shuttleä from Audiovox, a unit from JVC that resembles a PDA device, a small unit from Clarion, plus the Streamer, which is being marketed to truckers, are all contributing to an increase in market share at retail for SIRIUS. A home unit from Kenwood is also available at stores, as well as a boombox from Audiovox. PanaPacific also offers a boombox from Brix that works with the Streamer.
The portable “Plug & Play” products adapt to existing audio systems and can be easily installed by either the retailer, or the purchaser.
SIRIUS continues to be the leading brand provider of satellite radios from Audiovox, Clarion, Jensen, JVC and Kenwood, with new products from Alpine, Blaupunkt, Sanyo, Delphi, Crestron, Eclipse, Niles and U.S. Electronics expected later this year.
Currently, SIRIUS ready products can be found at Best Buy, Circuit City, Tweeter, Ultimate, the Good Guys, Sears, Crutchfield and other mobile audio outlets, with availability at Wal-Mart, EchoStar’s DISH Network sales locations and RadioShack stores later this summer.

SIRIUS’ exclusive automotive partners DaimlerChrysler, Ford and BMW represent over 40% of new cars and light trucks sold annually in the United States. Automotive brands currently offering SIRIUS radios in select new car models include BMW, MINI, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeepâ, Nissan, Infiniti, Mazda, Audi, Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen. Automotive brands that have announced plans to offer SIRIUS radios in select models include Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover and Aston Martin. In 2004, SIRIUS radios are expected to be available in over 80 different car models, with more than 50 of them factory programs. Also, Hertz currently offers SIRIUS in 29 vehicle models at 53 major locations around the country.
