NEW YORK – September 17, 2003 – SIRIUS (NASDAQ: SIRI), known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and premium audio entertainment to cars and homes across the country, today announced that internationally recognized celebrity, Pamela Anderson, will host a weekly show on SIRIUS and will be featured in marketing, advertising and promotional activities.
“Club Pam,” the new talk show featuring Pamela Anderson, will air live on SIRIUS Talk, Steam 146, Fridays at 5 p.m. ET, and re-air at 6 p.m. PT the same day, beginning October 3.
During the show, Pamela will speak intimately, and one-on-one, to her fans, as if they have been invited into her home to lounge in her playroom. Fans will hear what she’s been up to in her public and private life, and be able to call in to speak with her directly to share in her favorite things. Pamela might even play a song or two!
“We are thrilled to have Pamela join us on SIRIUS,” said Jay Clark, Executive Vice President of Programming for SIRIUS. “Her international celebrity status, combined with her wit and personality, will entertain her many fans, and will add another exciting dimension to our talk programming. This initiative with Pamela reinforces our objective to continue to offer interesting, provocative and entertaining programming on the talk side of SIRIUS. We are very pleased to feature her as part of our lineup.”
“I’ve been doing radio interviews for so long that I thought it was time that the tables were turned, and I had my chance at hosting a show,” said Anderson. “I have an opportunity to work at home, out of my bedroom...who could ask for a better job? I am thrilled to be working with SIRIUS, and happy that they too are taking me on for this great opportunity!”
Pamela will also be the feature attraction in marketing, advertising and promotional activities in the coming weeks and months. These include being featured in television commercials, point-of-sale materials in retail stores that sell SIRIUS, a training video for store personnel, and public appearances around Monday Night Football, plus other high-profile events.
“Pamela is a natural for generating attention,” said Mary Pat Ryan, Executive Vice President of Marketing for SIRIUS. “Her high visibility within the entertainment industry, combined with nearly instant recognition, makes her the perfect choice to help promote our unique commercial-free music, and extensive news, sports and entertainment programming.”
