NEW YORK, NY and DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - October 25, 2004 - SIRIUS (NASDAQ: SIRI), the premium satellite radio provider known for delivering the very best in commercial-free music and sports programming to cars and homes across the country, has announced that SIRIUS radios are now available at Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) stores nationwide.
Office Depot, which sells more office products to more customers in more countries than anyone else, is the first office supply superstore to offer SIRIUS radios through its 900 stores in the continental United States. In 2004, Office Depot is embarking upon one of the most ambitious expansion plans in its history - and is on track to open 80 new stores this year and 100 more in both 2005 and 2006.
All Office Depot stores now carry the Xact XTR1 “Stream Jockey” palm-sized SIRIUS satellite radio and related accessories. The Xact - priced at $149 including car kit - is SIRIUS’ smallest receiver, making it an ideal device for transporting between the car, home and office, as well as for travel.
Joseph P. Clayton, SIRIUS CEO said, “We’re delighted to welcome Office Depot to the expanding list of national retailers selling SIRIUS radios. Office Depot provides an excellent opportunity for future SIRIUS customers to learn about and examine SIRIUS radios up-close.”
SIRIUS offers 120 channels of programming for $12.95 per month, including 65 channels of 100% commercial-free music and over 55 channels of talk, information, entertainment and sports programming, including the entire NFL each week.
“Office Depot is committed to providing our small business customers with the products and services that meet their diverse needs - whether in the office, on the road or at home,” noted Chuck Rubin, Office Depot’s EVP and Chief Merchandising/Marketing Officer. “SIRIUS is a terrific complement to our existing offerings. And, as we expand into the Northeast with our exciting new M2 retail format, we will have even more opportunities to deliver not only innovative product options, but the comprehensive information and advice that customers have come to expect from Office Depot.”About SIRIUS
